Question Turn signal/wiper switch replacement

Hello!

I have a 190d, 1985. I am going to attempt to replace the turn signal/switch for the wiper control that is connected to the steering column. Besides having to take the steeriing wheel off, is there any other "disassembly" needed to do this job?

Thanks for any advice anyone might have.

You car has an air bag? If so, you will need to disconnect it before trying to remove the steering wheel. I have not done this, but I believe I read that the connector you are after is down in the passenger footwell.
