My warranty is set to expire the first of november, is there anything that should be looked at prior to warranty ends.
The car does 'surge' in first gear in the a.m. once it shifts for the first time it runs well. I just wanted to head off any potential problems areas before the warranty runs out. Thanks for this great forum. jim ------------------ Jim Aldridge 95 E320, SE |

Now's the time to decide if you want to purchase an extended warranty. Actually, you may already be too late since most warranty companies require the purchase no later than 30 days prior to the factory warranty expiration.

If you can, I would get the extended warranty on this car. They are really good cars, but sometimes the head gasket can blow or the evaporator can leak. Good luck.
Have the diff checked head gasket checked air conditioning checked door pockets checked b-pillar post checked for the fabric peeling. ------------------ Benzmac: 1987 16V ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |

Door pockets peel up and the little clips break often.
Diffs do leak often on these. ------------------ Benzmac: 1987 16V ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |

I recently purchased a used 95 E320 (41K) with the previously mentioned problems occured (oil leak in front of engine, rear diff. leak).
My question is, how often can I expect these problems to re-occur. And, if often enough, would it be better for purchase the tools requred' for the job and learn how to DIY. (What tools would be req'd to replace the rear diff seals, and front gasket?) Although the car was out of warrenty, when I took it in to the dealer, he said they would fix the front oil leak for no charge as a 'customer satisfaction' service, but not the rear diff., a $350 job.
