1984 380 SL = Two issues:

When I push my EC or other buttons on my climate control unit, I initially notice a smell like hot or burning wires momentarily. No fuses blow. I have noticed that my interior temp fluctuates a bit.....to make more comfortable, I have to mess with the temp wheel occasionaly. Could this be a faulty interior temp sensor? If so, how do you get that thing out of the dash console?

My instrument cluster lights and shift console area lights are inoperative. The little black knob does nothing when rotated to solve problem. Can the little black light knob on the instrument cluster be replaced...also there are no blown fuses.

Appreciate comments.....older guy who is new at this.
