glove box removal on W126
Hi everybody,
I took off the glovebox today on my 1987 420 SEL looking for that blower that gets the air to the temp. sensor next to the dome light. As I had some trouble with pulling the box out until I realized what kept the box in, I thought I might help others in the future by posting 3 little pictures. First the 7 connectors that hold the box in, second the catch, that is screwed in with 2 small Philips-head screws and third the plastic block that sits on top of the box behind the latch. That is the one that gave me trouble. The upper part of the glovebox needs to be pushed down so that this block can clear the latch part. Hope the pictures will appear in order and make everything clear. Reinhard Kreutzer Last edited by RKreutzer; 01-03-2003 at 05:12 PM. |

Great description.
I'll add that you have to pull the glove box light out of it's holder then shove it back in the hole or pull the wires and remove it. Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

You are right, Sixto, I completely forgot the light.
It snapped right out when prying with a small screwdriver and I pulled it out first, but later on pushed it through the hole in. Thanks for the addition. Reinhard Kreutzer |

Thanks for the info. By the way RK, did you find a bad motor or that the tubing had become disconnected?
