Torque Values? Can anybody help?
Greetings again to all Benz lovers out there. I have a big question to ask. I have a 1990 560 SEC (Euro-style). I am going to replace the rear main oil seal on the back of the engine. Does anyone out there have a repair manual for this car that states what the torquing requirements are for the Flex-plate mounting bolts. Also, is there a specific torque value for the torque convertor to flex-plate bolts? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!......Dave |

The bolts that attach the flex plate to the crankshaft are initially torqued to 30-40nm, then angle torqued an additional 90-100 degrees. Before installing these bolts, theck the thickness of the "neck" between the head of the bolt and the threads, the neck can be no thinner than 9.3mm.
The bolts that attach the torque converter to the flex plate are torqued to 20nm. Gilly
