do i need a special tool to remove the dash/console wood inserts on a 1987 2.3 16V (i.e., in the area of the climate controls and shifter)? if i need a tool, where do i get it? or is there just a persnickity procedure (without a special tool) that will result in removing the wood without busting it up?
thanks in advance, ------------------ john '77 6.9 '87 2.3-16v '92 500E |

I don't think I have used any special tools to do this, but it helps to know where the bolts/clips are that hold it in place. Do you have the service CD yet? It covers this and every other thing with the 16v with the exception of the transmission.
They are for sale in the partsshop! ------------------ Benzmac: 1981 280GE SWB 1987 16V ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |
