I was wrong I am still burning oil. I have decided to replace the valve stem seals myself. I understand that the cam is in the center and the valves are operated by rockers. I was told that all I would have to do is loosen the rocker nut to access the spring. Do the valves need to be adjusted if I do this? The rest sounds pretty simple. I have a small spring compresser that you compress the spring with then strike with a hammer to release the keepers. Will this work like it does on a small block chevy? Anything else I should be looking for? Cam cover seal looks good still, its not leaking.

Make sure you pressurize the cylinder before removing the keeper from the valve stem, or even compressing the spring for that matter. If you do not do this, the valve will drop into the cylinder. Anytime the working relationships between camshaft, followers, etc... is disturbed, I re-adjust the valve lash.

Always replace the valve cover gasket.
The hydraulic valves in this enigne will not need any adjustment when done. Be sure to keep the small pucks in the same place they came from and be careful not to drop them when coming apart. The key to this job is to use the EXACT torque on the cam cap bolts. Too tight and you will strip out the aluminum threads.
