ABS light on again help!

About five months ago I had problem with the car starting when hot , and when it does start the car would idle poorly, with the help of several members here I changed the OVP,
O2 sensor ,plugs ,rotor and cap and which seems to have solved the problem but now my abs light came on but this time it goes off when i step on the gas my question now is what other symptoms could cause the abs light to come on besides the ovp
thanks guys

Are there any other symptoms besides the ABS light? When was the last time you replaced all of the fuses?

What year and model are we talking about?

Sounds like a bad electrical connection which is responding to acceleration forces. I wouldn't rule out the new OVP.

Had a similar experience awhile ago on my 84 280CE, I was sitting in a drive thru line with lights, heater, stereo, heated rear window all on and my foot on the brake in drive. After sitting for a few minutes (ever notice McDonalds are getting slower) the ABS light pops on, but everytime I moved forward it went out, next the stereo volume started to get lower too. I finally figured it out, that all that equipment was too much draw for the alternator. After shutting down a few things it went out and has not been on since. I figure the heated rear window is the biggest offender, and I have read here somewhere that MB alternators are not always up to the job.

Hope it helps.

Thanks guys , well at first i didnt want to post all the symptoms thinking it could just be my imagination but whenever the abs lights comes on my radio would keep shutting off and my heater would shut off and as soon as i step on the accelerator the light goes out and my heater would kick in and the stereo would be fine.

As for the fuses i checked them all they ok , should i just replace them all anyway.

The car is an 89 300e with 160k miles

thanks guys

I'd have your alternator output and battery condition checked, most places will do it free for you. Have you checked the alternator belt as well, could be slipping.

Yes this sounds like an alternator issue. The 190E, and maybe the 300E also, has a control in the heated rear window to cater for just this situation. If there is not enough charge from the alternator, the heated rear window switch will flash its light when you turn it on, and disable itself. Try turning off your heated window manually (if it's on), and other high-drain electrical devices.
