Engine just died a horibble death on road. Made sound like the drive belt of a snowmobile disintegrating, shook the whole car and died. Power steering and brakes are REALLY fun when there is no power being supplied to them. I am having it towed to the local shop in the morning, in hopes that it is something simple, but from the sounds it made, I have a horrible feeling that the engine will need some MAJOR internal work. Does anyone know what engine type I have? I know that it is different than the standard American issue 4.5 liter, but other than that, not much. Any thoughts as to what other engines would fit in nicely at around the same cost as a full rebuild?
