Twin Electric Fan Install???

Just a thought... wanted to know if anyone has any idea who has an electic fan setup (preferable twin fans) that would fit where my fan is located? There's no problems whatso ever with the fan as is but just wanted to get another look about her...like some stainless steel blades, etc to dress it up. Any help is appreciated. Also, was contemplating pugging my hole where the dull star is or perhaps just replacing it with a nice new shiny one. What are your opinions (although I kinda like driving with the hood shining and seeing that star in front leading the way)?

I think the later model 126 cars have a twin fan set up, they are not pretty though. I have twin fans on my 1990 300SE. I don't know what you are looking to do by adding 2?

Question for you: How hard is it to keep your factory US headlight wipers with the Euro headlights?

Thanks,
Dan

Personally, I would not plug the hole. Terminator: They make a round chrome "plug" just for this purpose, you can get it from Performance Parts. The cars with the star on the grille (SECs for example) look like it should be there, and the cars with it on the hood, look like it should be there too. In my opinion, cars with no star on the hood (on cars on which it came), look like there is something just missing....which something would be missing!

Enough on that. Yes the later ones have dual fans. I suppose you could retrofit one. However, that bar that has the horn on it has been relocated on those models. Since I am sure that bar is welded on, it would be an operation not worthwhile. Is your car overheating? Is there something wrong with it? You really would not notice a thing if you spent lots of time and money on doing this. If you want to do anything with fans, you should consider replacing your visco fan with electric fans. Then you might notice a difference. However, there has been lots of discussion on this, opinions going both ways of course. There is also something about replacing your thermostat with a negative one. Search this topic and you'll find a lot. Especially the post named "Electric Fans & Radiators". There's my humble opinion

The dual fans on a 90 and 91 300se and sel do not spin at the same speed. I'm not sure about the other 126 cars. One fan will engage at a certain temp and spin at one speed, and the second one will engage and spin at a different speed. I considered this switch to help with my A/C in traffic but learned from mechanics that for the money it would not make much of a difference. As far as the plugging of the hole, I was making light of how you spelled plug.

terminator

I think they both spin at the same speed, They only turn on when the AC is on or the coolant temp goes above I think 120C

Thanks for the replies and I probably will leave it as is. No there is no overheating or anything, just a thought for cosmetics while I had the hood up looking at my engine compartment. I had a picture of some shiny blades in my head that would complement my stainless steel braided hoses, etc.

The euros were a snap to install and I used the wipers existing mount hole for one side and to secure the other side (although it isn't absolutely needed to do this) I made a bracket you can find at any hardware store.Again, that was a cinch too.

I agree about the star...I'll just replace with a new chrome one because mine is dull as you can see.
