Owner-induced problem - 560 SL

Went to replace fuel accumulator thinking it might be the cause of hard starting hot. While there, I noticed a leaking fuel pump and decided to change out both fuel pumps. the accumulator and the fuel filter. Now the idles well, and accelerates sluggishly up to about 3,200 rpm at which point it appears to starve out for fuel. Also noticed surging while accelerating. If you lift your foot off the gas it picks up slightly. Classic fuel starvation symptoms. What could I have done to cause this? All lines appear be unkinked.
