Unhappy W124 Speedometer instrument cluster Lens

PLEASE HELP! I have a cracked instrument cluster lens in a 1994 W124 model and I desperatley need to replace it! ANyone know where I can get either a used one or a new one? Is the part available as a seperate piece from the dealer? I would pay it is was just avaliable. Anyone know how to get ahold of a used one let me know!
Any one interested in custom white face or any custom color gauge faces let me know, we do them daily in our shop, all models up to 1996 year MB. No backlit gauges yet.PLEASE HELP!

The cluster lens is spot glued into the cluster housing. I don't think the clear lenses are sold separately, but whole clusters are pretty cheap at recyling yards. A sharp X-acto knife will break the glue welds on a salvagable one and then reglue.

uh ya, I was unsucessful at that

ya, we doa lot of gauge faces and never broke one, until yesterday. the clear lens had to come off to install a custom wood cluater accent piece, usually no problem, never had been before. Oftern if teh cluster just gets too dirty the clear lens can be carefully pried off withteh exacto...yesterday was not one of those days. We are taking care of it though. Just got to find a new or excellent shape front bexel/lens piece off a W124. ANyone got one they want to make a quick buck off of? I'm buying.

When are backlit gauges going to be available for our "old" cars??? I have the whie face gauges, but the front lit just looks too fake. Will anyone ever make back lit gauges for us??

Not backlit, but I believe there was a source for custom "indiglo" faces. Might try a google search for that one.

Your post made me laugh.

"I broke a lens... anyone interested in me doing theirs contact me." :-)

Seriously though, I've thought about doing it myself, but am afraid of not getting things back in right.. especially the needles.

How much and how quick is the turnaround?

Willy

I don't think so...

My car is 17 years old and the youngest 124 is 8 years old. It is just, realistically, not profitable for any company to design, test, produce and market NEW products for our aging cars. Specially now, that the new "E" is out.
