the glow plug on no.5 cylinder (behind the oil filter} is sheered off with half of the plug remaining in the pre cumbustion chamber ,still in thescrewed in position.
any suggestions on how to remove this short of opening the head????? |

You may have to remove the oil filter housing to access the hole to extract and tap it out.

Did all of the threaded part come out? If the ceramic end-piece is the only part stuck in the hole...why not put the other glow plugs in it and start the car? If you're lucky,the piece will blow out after it starts. If not,the prechamber has got to come out anyway (worst case,maybe the head has to come off). I don't think you've got much to lose here. If the piece drops into the prechamber,its not going anywhere.

the car is running fine with 4 glow plugs. it is the starting in very cold weather that bothers me . the glow plug is still screwed in . the screwed part did not al come out.
