Unhappy S320 "Drive" to "4th" Shift Adjustment

My selector switch which controls the shift from Drive to 4th gear is slightly out of adjustment and this requires me to pull the gear selector lever very hard to the left in order to change into 4th. I think this could be fixed by slightly moving the gear selector switch under the slotted gate, but I can't figure out how to get the slotted gate off. I can take off the outer trim piece fine, but I can't see how to remove the slotted gate, the shift indicator and the shutter. Can someone tell me how to get these parts off so I can get to the selector switch? PS: My shift pattern is P,R,N,D,4,3,2, with 4 being immediately to the left of D.
