Question Mercedes ML Trip Computer B26 compass module

I'm still hoping someone out there could give me the part number or Location of the B26 Remote compass module for the ML series Trip Computer, I have a number of these computers and would like to try one out with the module so I can prove the Compass works. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Steve:
It would be better to post ML questions at the ML forum.
The compass module is in the rear of the truck, it's either IN the tailgate or under the rear piece of trim at the rear of the carpet (near the latch striker).
I can find out exactly on Monday, and should be able to come up with a part number.

Mercedes ML Trip Computer

Thanks for the info Gillybenztech. I could really use the part number for the remote module. Do you know if the 2001 and newer cars that didn't have the trip computer still have wiring going back to where the remote module would be ??

Steve:
I'm not really sure how much pre-wiring would be done on them. If it is easy to check and I have the time, I can try to remember to look, no promise. If it turns out being actually IN the tailgate, i probably won't even try, as the newer tailgate trim is a "beach" to remove. Somehting tells me it's not in the gate though, I think it's under the rear trim plate.
To add difficulty in checking what you want to check, if the tailgate is open the compass won't work, it must use a signal from the latch to determine if the gate is opened or not. If the gate is opened it screws up the reading, that's why MB did it this way.

ML Trip Compputer

Thanks for the info, That is just like mercedes to have that factored into consideration.
I have found some info on Wolfgangs web site where he mentions that the Wiring to the B26 Module is"under the palstic edge of rear loading area. He further says that the 4 pin wiring to it is tan , pink, green and Blue..
I have emailed him but never got a responce.
I have taken your advice and posted these questions on the Ml Forum, along with a question I forgot to list here.
Everyone who has installed one of these in a car that didn't come with one has had to diegrind a square hole in the fascia panel for the LCD.
I saw a wood trim kit on sale on ebay for and was wondering if anyone sells the fascia panel in wood grain or carbon fiber look that I could spray blace for those that aren't happy with their hole cutting job.
Your a wealth of info, and I really appreciate your input.
