1981 Mercedes 240D stick shift pattern.

Dear friends,

Could someone tell me what the stick shift pattern for a 1981 Mercedes 240D with manual transmission is?

Thank you very much.

Eric

H pattern with first upper left, straight down to 2nd, 3rd upper right, straight back for fourth. Gosh, I don't remember how to engage reverse (push down or pull up?) but I am sure it is an upper left move.

Here you Go

It's a standard H pattern, up and to the left 1st, second straight back, third up and to the right and fourth straight back. reverse is lift up on the stick, then move it left and toward the front of the car.

Happy motoring

Standard H as indicated. Pull UP to unlock for reverse.

Have a great day,

Reverse

Hi

The reverse for the 240D is pull over and up towards the driver i.e. like going into 1st. You pull the shifter over to the left, pull up on the shifter, then move upward.

Hope it's helpful.
