Could improper valve timing cause a car to idle rough but run okay on the highway? Car has about 13 in. of vacuum steady at idle. Car is going to shop to have timing chain replaced. Car is 450 se 76. Is valve timing an issue with mercedes? How do you tell if you have a bent valve without pulling cylnder head off?

Some of the V'8's did have problems with the timing chain, but usually when they did jump, they would bend all of the valves on that side.
