W126 Windshield Wiper Transmission Failure

The windshield wipers on '91 W126 (350 SDL) failed in middle position without warning. Motor still runs with vibration that felt like parts bumping into one another.

Removed motor/transmission assembly ... found main drive arm socket worn resulting in ball popping out.

Have done search and found a bit on the issue, but not clear to me whether or not the sockets (plastic) can be pressed into the steel transmission arm or not ... can the arm itself be replaced ... it has a socket at one end nearest motor arm and a hole at the other end where a shaft with nut connects.

Would appreciate advice on what my options are.

Thanks!
