The auxiliary water pump on my 1988 190E 2.3 is leaking and I plan to replace it and the two connecting hoses this weekend. The task appears to be incredibly easy (open reservoir cap, drain radiator, replace auxiliary pump and hoses, and refill.) For those of you with more experience, is it as easy as it looks?

Its even easier. When I replaced mine, I didn't drain the radiator (just plugged the attached hoses or raised them above the level of the radiator.

Thanks John,
Almost looks too easy. I won't be able to follow you suggestion about not draining the rediator, since I plan to replace the two attached hoses also. |
