In what cirumstances is the MB warranty voided (and how long and what does it exactly cover)? Some have suggested for example "when you reset the service light the info isn't recorded into the computer, but if the dealer uses the factory tool then the reset is recorded into the computer. If you have any warrenty engine repairs this might be a factor." Is this true? The car has 1000 miles to service light on now w/ about 26k mile total. It is being put into hybernation for about a year and a half with only very light use in between to keep things lubricated. Considering doing what is included in the FSS B myself and resetting myself. Is this a good idea any comments??

Many dealers DON'T go to effort of connecting HHT or SDS to every A-B service. Keep good records & use OE parts. DO service yourself & reset FSS.

Kevin,
The instructions to reset the FSS indicator are in your owner's manual. It's some crazy combination of pushing dash buttons and turning your key. I did it myself, but it took two or three times to get the sequence right. |
