Climate Control Testing Procedure?

I have heard that the Climate Control pushbutton unit has an internal amplifier.

Larry Bible (a member here) suggested that MercedesShop might have a testing procedure for checking over the pinouts. Anybody got this? I'd like to test it before I buy a reman. unit.

I have a 1987 260E.
