'85 380SL Acceleration

After two stints in the shop I'm still experiencing acceleration issues. Once it comes out of the shop it accelerates beautifully for 2 or 3 weeks - then when you press on the accelerator initially it revs properly and begins to move then you get a lack of acceleration then it picks up speed again. Fuel filter has been changed along with several other things. Any ideas?
