96-E320 turn signal

On the way to work this morning, my left turn signal suddenly flashed much quicker than normal.

Will check the user manual and bulbs tonight when I get home, but does anybody know off hand if that indicates a burn bulb, or other relay problems? (light bulb defective warning on the dash did not come on).

Thanks.

Yes, that indicates a burned out directional bulb. This is a response from the lamp failure monitor system which replicates what an older car did with a burned out directional. They could have just as well had it flash at a normal rate, but chose to do it this way, figuring drivers are already conditioned to notice the "fast flash" indicates an inop turn signal. Guess it worked, huh?
