Question Help - Speedo & Brake light problems

At random times the following happens all at once to my 1996 C220 with low kms, the Speedometer stops and the 3 brake warning lights come on ( brake pads, ABS and handbrake). This problem is random and sometimes wont happen for days, other times it lasts a few seconds other times its lasts a few hrs.

I have checked out all the brake warning lights and have confirmed that there are no issues with the brakes.

It is difficult driving when the Speedo suddenly stops. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Any help would be much appreciated.

You need to have computer codes READ from the traction system computer. That computer sends signal to speedo for vechicle speed!

Thanks for the advice - I will have that READ - why would the brake failure lights also come on?
Do I need a new traction system computer? How expensive?

I rang my local mercedes guy who had never seen the problmes I am encountering. Has anyone encountered this problem before?
