Light Control relay question

The light control relay in my 300ce (124 chassis) shows to have a link that got overheated and link was melted. This caused my rear right side marker light to stop woirking. Electrically there is no short in the wiring going from the fuse box to the rear side marker wire. If I solder the broken link with a small fuse, wil that work or do I have to get a new control relay?
want some advice from the MB gurus.
My e-mail is bshah@satx.rr.com
Thanks
