Unhappy E320 Electric Window Problems

The auto down and up (second position of switch) in the front passenger window of my 1998 E320 does not work. However, I can roll up the windows when pushing & holding the window switch in the first position. The odd thing is that yesterday all windows were like this but today all other windows work fine except the front passenger window.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

SA

Have you tried to re-synchronize that window?
On the 1998 & later cars there is a "DOOR" control module in each door, there are scan tool that can read codes from those control modules!

Also, I replaced the battery yesterday. Can this problem be related to that?

Was the front passenger window in a different position from the other three windows when the battery was replaced?

I had a similar problem syncronizing the power top operation on my cabriolet.

Yes, battery replacement can cause that problem.
Your owners manual should provide that info.
To re-syncro the windows, put the window up & hold the window switch in the MAX up position(2nd detent) for 1-2 seconds!
