94 E320 trans 2-3 shift flairing/slipping

I have seen this topic discussed before but I am stuck on what action to take next. My car flairs ocassionally between the 2-3 shift points. It does not happen all the time but seems to occur more when colder and under certain loads. The car is Starmarked and I have had it to the dealer. vacuum seems to be okay and they adjusted the modulator. they said to continue driving and if the problem persists they will 'look at ' it again. I mentioned the spring kit Mercedes made avalaible but they intimated that it didn't work or they did not have much confidence in it as a final fix. I am wondering how prevalent this problem was on these transmissions? What has finally solved the problem for others? Is this a complete rebuild scenario? Thanks in advance.

When is the last time the Trans fluid was changed. Service intercal for this car is 30,000 I think. Has it ever been changed? I would start there with no other info presented.

Shift sooner and harder to obscure internal leakage.

But if one were to be covered with StarMark one might wish to solve the internal leakage. It's not your problem! Get it handled as soon as you feel you have given their patch some time. Once you are beyond that the real fix will either include a new valve body (less likely) or internal resealing.

No time like the present.

Thanks for the responses. The car was Starmarked at 35,000 mi including trans service. What do you mean by internal resealing? How extensive a repair is that? thanks.
