Where can I find info on how often/frequency a 1995 Mercedez C280 WiperTransmission Part# 2028200707 wears down? Seldom, Usually, Always??? I need a gauge to fight my insurance company.

A big hail storm hit my car, and the wiper stopped retracting. Now the insurance company does not want to honor my claim. They claim it is due to normal wear and tear? How convinient... Can someone help me?

Not very often. Dealers do like to replace it at big cost when it starts to stick, but a smart mechanic will simply lube it and 99.9999% of them are fixed that way. So a search on "lube monowiper" and I'm sure you'll find lots of info.

If lube fails, then the storm may have damaged the tranny.
