Mercedes brake paste=anti seize compound?
When i did the fronts on the SL, i applied some MB brake paste on the back of the pads. I noticed a similarity to anti-seize, the feel and consistency was almost the same. Anyone else notice this and use just good old anti-seize instead, i tried it on the rear set.

i use antisieze paste, there are a lot of threads on this. If you just type in brake squeal you should find everything you want to know about it.

I actually analyzed the antisqueal paste I found on the back of the old pads when I did the brakes on my car. It's simply copper-based neversieze. No need to buy the special MB stuff.

The MB stuff is cheep and it comes in a convinent container.
As for if you put it on , a careful reading of the CD data states that the paste should only be used if the pad has a series of holes in the metal plate. (At least for my 95 E350)!
