W140 ACC recirc actuators
Driving on I5 through the California central valley the ACC recirc feature powerless over the cattle herd near Harris Ranch. Where are the recirculation actuators on a 95 S420? Behind the glove box like on a W126? This car doesn't have an activated charcoal filter.
If the evaporator is a time bomb, I'm glad it chose to hold together while the exterior temp gauge was reading 108F. Thanks, Sixto 95 S420 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

I have just finished replaceing the evaporator on my '93 300SD. I did the job myself and saved about $3500.00 . When I removed the cover from the Fan assembly under the hood I noticed a small plastic snap-in pin lying on top of the fresh air filter. They use 2 vacuum actuators to move the recirc door. The second pin was deteriorated and was ready to fall out also! Maybe your recirc flap is inoperable. It's easy to check out. Just remove about 6-7 large phillips screws and lift off the cover. You might want to replace the filter while you are in there $$$.

wow you did the evaporator yourself! That must have been a killer. Did you had to remove everything as suggested?
Do you find the fan noise too loud? I find with the recirc on, the fan noise is just unacceptable. |
