power window motor probs with 109

G'day all, new to this forum, there is a great wealth of info available here.

any suggestions on a power window motor (?) problem i'm having with the 6.3?

They make a clicking sound and refuse to rise all the way. The motor is going strong, i dont think the problem is electrical (?).

I am currently raising them as much as possible with the switch, and lifting them by hand the remaining few inches. I'm worried i may be doing more damage.

If it comes to replacing them, what other series have the same window motors? i.e. 116? My family had both a 350 and a 450 previously and they at least seem to be a different system.

any suggestions?
many thanks

It is the window regulator. Look on e-bay or I believe adsit has them used for like $150? Just a guess on the price.

I agree, it's the regulator. Only 109 regs can be used.

electric window problem

Have had this problem over the years on my 77 450sl. Always fixed witjout parts replaceent! First look for glass aleignment. If off adjustment, wil wedge shut gong up, overheat switch and shut down. After confirming alignment in channel, also no obstruction, hold window full open, open door and spray wd 40 inside door on control arms and regulater, (wont hurt motor) try switch with door open, in most cases good for a few more years, good luck, Abe G
