cylinder head R&R -1984 500 SEL -Questions

Visual/Logical diagnoses from blue smoke on start up only- no smoking after warm up - does seem to run rich at idle though. Am going to first test with compression test and cylinder leakdown test before disassembly. Have CD manual and subscribe to the ALLDATADIY.com ? online manual. Questions: 1. Does anybody know where to rent the valve spring compressor for the 117.963 engine? 2. Any other test I should perform before takedown? Will my ball hex sockets set be Ok for the head bolts or does a person really need that offset one (8mm D shaped)?

Am doing the timing chain R&R/ rails tensioner at same time.
