'99 E300 Air Conditioning Problem, HELP!
My mom and her b/f are on their way up the east coast of the country on a road trip. Somewhere around hilton head they noticed the a/c wasn't getting cold fast, or very cold at all. Now today it's died completely, blowing only warm outside air, and the EC (economy) light has come on and is constant. Can anyone shed light as to what the prob is? So frustrating to be 5 months out of warranty with 45K miles and be having these probs!!! Thanks,
Dave

The EC light on means an AC fault. On the W210 cars, the most probable cause is the evaporator temp sensor.

thanks so much for the quick reply. Any idea how much that sensor costs to replace, and how much labor?

anyone? Thanks. Sorry for the urgency, you know how moms can be when their cars break down.
