Quick question....How do you tell the age of a MB battery from the codes on it? Thanks!

The original battery in my '96 c280 had the year of manufacture stamped on top of the negative post.

Thanks for the reply, however, there was no stamp on the terminal....I bought the car ('98 C80) used about 6 months ago..I have had an intermittent starting problem...starter turns only once without starting..the car always eventually starts though. Lately the car will hung up in high gear a couple times...3rd or 4th. Not fun when you are pulling out into traffic and go 0-60 in about 1.5 minutes. However shutting of the car and restarting corrected this. I supected maybe the battery is weak and causing electrical problems, and am going to replace it if I can confirm it is the original. I also had diagnostics run and the only code was O2 sensor. Any other suggetions with how to tell the battery year? Thanks a lot.
