1992 300Ce cylinder head torque...techs please help
Hello...I am installing the cylinder head that I just got back from the machine shop for a valve job/guides/surfacing etc. My W124 book for my M104 24 valve engine says that in torquing the head to do the following..
1.Torque all head bolts(14) to 55Nm 2.Using a wrench turn...tighten head bolts 1 to 10.. 90 degrees 3.using a wrench turn...tighten head bolts 1 to 10.. 90 degrees Is this correct? Are they saying that head bolts 11 to 14 stay at the original torque value in step 1?? Please advise/help! Also what is the correct way to adjust the timing chain tensioner? When I installed it the chain is VERY tight. What is the correct way to adjust the allen head? Hopefully a tech or techs that have done this job task can provide me with a answer.Im hoping to get it running this weekend. Thanks for your time Phillip 1999 C43 1992 300Ce |
