Angry Sticky Seatbelt Retractors.....

I reciently replaced both left and right front seatbelts in my 300E with the units out of my parts car. The latches on both sides were smashed in the door by the previous owner and would no longer hang/slide correctly due to the broken plastic. Since then, I have noticed that both driver and passenger belts get locked up too easy. I have to giggle the belt strap to get them to extend. I am assuming that I may have swapped the passenger side for the drivers side and vice-versa... Are these seatbelt units sensitive in this matter? They bolted right in so I didn't give it a second thought. woops! Your comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Adam

BTW: These are active restraint units.
