w210 with 606 shut off noise
When I turn the ignition from the second position (driving position) to off I hear a series of fast clicks. I would say 3 to 5 of them. At first I thought my diesel was dieseling as a gas engine would. That is what it sounds like.
I then thought maybe it was bearings in the aux fans or blower motor - but I still hear this when car is cold, everything is off and all I am doing is moving the key from position 2 to off - wothout even starting the car. Does anyone know what is activated in this position? I know the radio works, the cc starts to blow etc.. Any thoughts?

All the flaps move to a park position, the injection pump shut-off
makes some loud noises, the glow relay will click a time or two, the valves for the heater box positon themselves, relays in the fuse box close, the K40 relay clicks loudly shutting of ABS and the Transmission controls......ect.ect.ect... There is all kinds of goodies doing their stuff under that hood when you cycle or shut off a E300 fuel system. I wouldn't be worried. DR.D |

Thanks, Dr.Diesel. This is my first E300 so I am learning...
Is it odd for me to hear this 1 second after everything else stops? For example.... Shut off engine... pause(everything is quiet) then...click, click, click(very fast)
