never,ever go to a quick lube joint.

i cannot tell you how many folks i know who can link the problems with their cars to going to one of those joints.

saving a nickel almost always ends up costing a fortune correcting the problems that the "saving" creates.

find a good mechanic, a good garage. still, always check your dipstick before paying the bill.

and by the way, i believe in draining the oil from the crankcase. not extracting the oil from some vacuum system.

and i believe in refilling the sump not from a central system, but from a container that contains all, and only all, the oil that is required for a replenishment.

i have encountered the benz dealer with a central hose system where more oil is introduced than required. real damage can be caused if the engine is operated too long in this condition.

Please Albert....even though I agree with you, don't get everyone started on the draining/pumping controversy!!

That ranks right up there with dino/syn oil, green/pink coolant and Zaino/Meguiars debates!
