Weak A/c On A 97 C280...

Has anyone experienced a very weak air conditioner on a 97 C280? It blows cold and strong from the side vents but it doesnt blow at all from the center vents. I tried everything but nothing seems to make it work. Is there a way to open and close the center vents?
Thanks

if controls manipulation does not change distribution:
vents are controlled by vacuum actuators.

there is a distribution box near firewall on drivers side with many different colored tubing attachments. check for loose or cracked fittings there. another dist box under dash near glovebox.

i hate to ask the silly question, but: are vents fully opened at dash?

lol yeah all vents are open. So I should remove the driver's side kick panel or is it under the hood next to firewall?
thanks

#1 under hood, right (pass) side, near firewall, close to fender.

#2 under dash, right, remove main cover, look for tubing/fittings.

ALSO, replace or clean your cabin (air) filter. pass side same place.
search for here "cheap ACC tuneup) for detailed instructions.

I finally had time to take a look at the A/C on the car and sure enough the cabin filter was dirty, but the A/C still does not blow from the center vents. I could not find the distribution box on the right side firewall and maybe that is where my problem is coming from? Can you clarify where exactly the dist box is under the hood pass side firewall?
Thanks for all your help.

vacuum distributor location

If you look under the hood on the passenger side you will see the overflow tank for the radiator. Just behind the tank will be a rubber gasket and behind that will be a flat black plastic cover. Lift up on this cover on the side nearest the tank and you will find the vacuum distributor at the edge nearest the overflow tank. It will have various colored plastic tubes connected to it. Check for loose or disconnected tubes.

Okay I finally found a diconnected vacume hose. and the A/C is finally blowing from the center vents. The problem is now when the car is in neutral or parking the center vents blow strong, as soon as I put it in gear and rev the engine the center vents stop blowing and if I put it in neutral or parking and rev it the center vents will start to blow strong again. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Thanks
