Well, this one should be simple, I can't find my repair section with exterior lighting schematics, etc. I have lost the high beam flash function, or at least it seems that way. Is this a combo switch replace or is there some other little trick or gizmo I don't know about. I haven't pulled the column down yet, so I wait with baited breath and anticipation. BTW it's the '89 300E..
Thanks and Happy Easter to all. ------------------ Jeff L 1987 300e 1989 300e 1987 BMW 325 |

While I'm sure you've done this, Jeff... check the fuse. The same happened to me and while the fuse looked intact (in fact it was), there was enough corrosion on it to break the circuit. Try popping in a new one. Or see if your wipers still work.
Good luck, -Nick |

Thanks Nick, but unfortunately, this is an isolated fault. Everything else is working as it should be. Just can't get the high beam flash function to work when you pull the combo switch control arm towards you. Pushing the stalk away from you produces the change from high to low and vice versa. Just don't have that little "flashy" thing anymore. I don't want to open up the steering column unless I have too..
