leaking transmission cable

Hi to all,

Once again I turn to you guys for some help. Just recently, my 260e automatic transmission developed a very slow leak. I had the car lifted at the service station and the leak was coming from the transmission cable plastic housing, the one with the breather.

Can this piece be repaired or do I have to replace the whole cable assembly? I think the part is called the AT kickdown cable. Is this cable the same as the one in the 300E?

Thanks

Does this cable attach to the right rear of the tranny, just above the pan? If so, that would be the kickdown solenoid. The solenoid is attached by a large hollow bolt (19mm bolt head) and is sealed with an o-ring.
