W124 weird electrical gremlin

I replaced my dome light and sunroof switch, and now whenever either front door is open, the SRS light comes on, the radio has power to it, and I'm able to operate all the power windows as well as the sunroof. It's almost as if the ignition switch is turned to the first position. When I close the front doors, none of these items have power. (unless of course the car is on). Is my ignition switch fried? I put back the old dome light and old sunroof switch, and everything's still the same. Very strange. Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

It is supossed that, with a opened door, you can operate windows and sunroof, no matter the ignition key position. It's working ok. About SRS light and powered radio, that is an abnormal situation. Check it's connection. The radio could be connected to the dome light being this an error.

I believe you have a shorted power seat diode. It will feed power to circuit 15R when you open the doors, hence the SRS light and Radio operation.

Remove the plastic covering that covers the entire fuse panel assembly exposing the relay area. In the fuse panel, rear closest to the fender, small gray or black two pole device. Replace with new diode from Radio Shack.

Good Luck

I realized that this silly problem occured when I had the passenger seat out of the car to Leatherique it. I put the seat back, and all is back to normal.
