Are there any tricks to removing 107 door panels? Are they simply held on with those little plastic studs like most German cars? I need to remove a driver's door panel to track down a rattle inside the door and I don't want to damage the panel trying to remove it.
Thanks! Colin |

Panel removal is not difficult, there are many of those snap in clips at the lower edge. use a putty knife or such to lever the clips. Then the panel is pulled straight up to release the tabs that slide down into the door for the inside door pull/handle and door pocket. DO NOT TRY to pull the panel at the front edge.it slides up. The reveal strip at the top of the door is usually a tight snap into its metal clips, some judicious prying with a long thin screwdriver does it here.

Michael left a few things out of his reply:
First you have to take off the chrome plates at the front and rear of the door panel...on the jamb side and above the door lock. Also, check your map pocket...you should find a small screw at the front, and maybe one at the rear. Finally, there's a large screw in the armrest. It's on the bottom side at the rear in a recessed hole...takes a #2 phillips head screw driver. Do all that before you start popping the panel clips. Gary Ludwick |
