I have a '99 E320. Recently, I've been experiencing a few strange events with my lights. A couple times I would turn on my fog lights and the warning message appears "Lamp Failure" - sure enough the left fog lamp is off. However, upon restarting the engine, both fog lights are fine. The same thing has happened with my rear left turn signal (it wouldn't work all of a sudden and then upon restarting the car, it works again). Ever heard of this?

Sure. Called intermittent open circuit. Usually related to bad, corroded fuses, problems with the lamp connectors, the wrong bulb for a specific application.

I would say in this car, it would be a faulty lamp. I have seen newer lamps fail in this way. I would replace the few lamps needed and see if the problem is gone.
