Advice fitting belt on 308d (uk)
I am having problems replacing the belt. I have found what seems to be a tensioner 2 metal hooks either end of a spring which has a rubber sleeve.
I removed it completely to check it out but their seems to be no difference in the height of the wheel it was attached too. steve Last edited by steve321; 08-31-2003 at 10:11 AM. |

308D fan belt
Its sorted.
Found a spring tensioner which connected into a wheel, with the top end hooking onto a plastic fitting at the front/top of the engine. It had a bolt which when undone and withdrawn, allowed the tension spring to be loosened for the belt to be fitted, after which one uses a bar to lever the fitting back up to position and refitting the bolt. steve |

Steve:
Which motor is in that 308d. I had a 307d in the UK with a 616 and I recently bought a 409d in the US with the 617 motor but I've never looked under the bonnet of the '8' versions. Is it turbocharged? Kerry
