think my a/c clutch is dead. it started to cause so much resistance when it kicked in that the belts started to screech. sprayed some lubricant into it and it seemed to help bring it back to normal, not sure how long that will last though. how long do these things last? and are they expensive to replace?

also, abt the same time, my aux fan just stopped working. is the a/c clutch and the aux fan on the same electrical circuit? was wondering if there is a connection (no pun intended). is there a simple way to wire the fan such that it runs ALL the time?

appreciate any advice and comments. thanks!

roland

Roland, my suggestion is to get the fan check out first and fixed. Then see if the clutch still gives you problems. I have seen this happen on another car...the fan relay quit-and when the pressures rose, the poor little compressor just couldn't compress anymore, and the clutch started to smoke.
Hope this helps
