I just got a New Robinair Vacuum Pump--what to use for Oil?
I just got a New Robinair Vacuum Pump--but the Vacuum Oil hasnt arrived yet , and wont do so for 4 more days.and I would like to do an AC Job tomorrow.. Can I use some other Oil fora one time use? I was wondering if I could use Air Compressor Oil--the reason I am in such a rush, is my system is losing pressure and needs the Suction Line changed immediately and I cant wait the 4 days for the oi--i am afraid of compressor damage....

IIRC, they use some kind of Krytox oil made by DuPont. It's very hard to find, and VERY expensive.

You must use vacuum pump oil. Look in the yellow pages under HVAC supplies houses. Do you have a Johnstone Supply nearby?
