HELP! HELP! help! Can't close my Door!!!

I REALLY consider this an emergency.

I'm an idiot. While seeing where I could opublricate my door closing mechanism (old pin style - 77 450 SEL); I accidentally pushed toward in position the inner latch ,mechanism. Now I can't slose door!!!

I can't dislodge it back to the outward position.

So it slams agains catch post on door jam.

Help me!!!!

I have to go out.

But if you can simply advise what needs to be done, please!!!

I'm sure this has happened before!!!!!

thanks.

Try this, while pulling the handle (and make sure the things unlocked) take a smallish screwdriver and gently pry up and out on the lock bar.

Thanks, joep.

Worked by using one of my retired dentist father's dental scaler tools.

Thank God!!!!!

Just before a rainstorm.

Saved me a trip to the repair shop!!!
