W208 Ball joint replacement job.
I am getting ready to replace the ball joints on my 99 W208 CLK320. Is there anything out of the ordinary I should be watching out for?
Looks straight forward, but I got to do this on my back (no lift) and expect separating the joint from the hub will be the hardest part. thanks |

The C208 chassis uses the same ball joint as the W202/W210 chassis THAT bolts in. Support the lower control arm.

Only 34k on this car, I got is second hand. The tie rod assembly was also shot. I did that a month ago. It came off 4 year lease from Hawaii and I think the roads beat up the front end a little early. Clean car other than that!
I also notice the steering box seems loose when I turn it hard left or right, I am going to look at that as well when I get into the job. |
