Question on Kompressor - Gilly, stevebfl.....

I assume the kompressor clutch on my C 230 K is of the electro-magnetic type.
The question is, what activates it ?
Is it throttle position, speed sensor, vacuum signal, or a combination of various inputs?
Just to satisfy my curiousity.
